The Bean Box is a monthly subscription box service that send you a mixture of 4 hand picked gourmet coffee roasts each month.  The coffee comes from some of Seattle’s top roasters and the beans are shipped fresh within 1 day of roasting along with tasting notes.

There is also a little surprise added to each box such as an artisan chocolate!

Each bag is 1.7oz which makes around 15 or more cups of coffee, .  The box was really neat and folded up, of course I couldn’t wait to tear it open and read about the coffee, I could smell it almost instantly, that is fresh!

Kuma Coffee is made in the mountains of Huehuetenango and is a 2013 cup of excellence award winner.  It contains notes of semi-sweet chocolate, nougat, vanilla, Rainier cherry and grape.  It is incredibly clean and distinct, an artifact of Kuma’s precise roasting process.

I cannot for the life of me find my coffee grinder so I haven’t gotten a chance to sample these yet, but I can tell by the smell how fresh this coffee is, this sounds sweet and delicious, pretty sure this will be my favorite, if I can’t find my grinder today I shall just have to go out and buy a new one tomorrow.

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe has a sweet, lively taste with hints of citrus, can sugar and black tea.  It is a light to medium roast development and Sourced from Ethiopa.

This is said to be almost tea like which I find pretty interesting, I am excited to try this out, it sounds almost weird but yummy at the same time if that makes sense?

Roasters Choice is a full bodied blend of Ethiopian, Sumatran and Latin high-grown Arabicas.  It’s rich and complex, Roasters Choice touches the whole palate and stays clean.

This sounds like it will be really bold and flavorful, I’m sure I will enjoy this for my morning wake-up-cup!

IMG_2850Herkimer Coffee Drip Blend is a soft, refreshing coffee with light acidity and a clean finish.  It has a hint of cherry with deeply caramelized sugar and chocolate.

This sounds amazing too and I am guessing it won’t be a strong coffee, Paul will probably love this one but of course I will have to check it out too.

This Mocha Encore Chocolate was gone in a matter of seconds, delicious melt in your mouth kinda stuff, love this!

This was a really awesome box and I think the price is great, usually when you order specialty coffee you need to pay shipping and they charge you an arm and leg if you were to buy it from selected shops!

Everything smells amazing and I can’t wait to try it all out, I love that they include that little something extra too!
