Betoyo Bento Review May 2014

May 20, 2014

Betoyo Bento who kindly sent me this box to review is a monthly Japanese Subscription Box that sends out anime toys, Japanese pop culture items and Japanese candy each month!

Betoyo Bento gives hints each month on what will be in each box on their website and facebook!  The word “Bento” is a single portion takeout or home packed meal common in Japan.

The Products

1Japanese Keyring Toy

I have no idea who this is but my 3 year old seemed to like him!  He came inside a little red ball that you break open (my son is obsessed with opening eggs and those sort of things with stuff in them),  He really likes this little dude!

Little Redheaded Girl Toy

Cute!  Betoyo is a mixture, for girl, boys, collectors etc.  I like that they feature a range of toys!

Airou Toy

With a little research I found out this guy is from the Neko collection, I’m not 100% sure but I think so!  He came in a few different parts, my son had fun putting him together!

Japanese Candy

Tastes like a chocolate waver, yum!  I haven’t tried many Japanese candies before, it’s always nice to try out something new!

blueBlue Haired Guy

I’m not sure who he is, but he came in two part, you have to put his hair on!  Dylan had fun putting him together!

Nagisa Kaworu

I think these are like little trading cards, great collectors item!

The Verdict

I think Betoyo Bento puts together quite an interesting box, it’s pretty neat that you can actually get toys sent over from Japan that you can’t find in your country!

This box is great for Japanese anime collectors and people who want to know more about Japanese culture, I like that they include candy and ship free too!

I didn’t do a cost breakdown mainly because everything is so hard to find which adds to the value of the box!

I have lots of friends who love anime and tiny treasures like these! It would be perfect for them!
