The Ultimate Dino Dig Kit includes a digging tool, magnifying glass, brush, activity booklet, adventure guide, digging brick and a guide to building your dinosaur once you find all the fossils!

How it works..

First of all we took all of the tools out including the brush, diging tool and dinosaur brick, then we filled up the plastic holder that the brick came in with water.  You can brush the fossil with water but if your child is super impatient like mine, dipping it in makes it softer and easier to dig into and break apart.

I think the dig kit is made with clay, Dylan didn’t really have much trouble digging into it once it was wet.  My husband loved the kit too, Dylan is only 4 and needed a little help but it’s also a great father and son bonding experience!

Once you dig into the brick deep enough you uncover some interesting fossil parts, arms, legs, poop and more! We then put all of the peices in some water so the clay would wash off whilst we were digging out the rest!

Once all the parts are dug up it’s time to put together a super cool T-Rex!  There is an instruction booklet included so it’s easy to put together.

Dylan was super happy with finding and digging up his own little dino, it’s fun and also a great sense of accomplishment.  This was a great learning experience for Dylan and at the end there was a cool reward!

We also found some super cool fossils, real dinosaur bones and even a real poop!  My son was pretty fascinated with the poop, at first he thought it was disgusting which I found hilarious and once we put the dinosaur together he was trying to make the dinosaur eat it, I know gross!

The activity book is filled with puzzles, coloring in pages, guess the difference and more, it’s a great activity to check out after your done digging up the fossil!

The adventure guide is filled with fun facts about dinosaur history, you can learn where dinosaurs were first found, some facts about the bone wars and there is also sections of the booklet explaining what fossils are,and how they were formed.  Then you can move on and read about paleontology and what fossils can and cannot tell us.

There is  also a section that explains about the dinosaur poop and bone fossil!

Check out Dylan’s reaction when he found the poop!

This was a super fun learning and educational experience for Dylan and even his dad!  They both like to get their hands dirty and really check stuff out, the Ultimate Dino Dig Kir was the perfect experience and created a unique bonding time for both father and son.

I don’t think I have ever seen anything like this and because Dylan has so many toys already I am thinking that more cool learning things like this would be perfect for his christmas or birthday, big thumbs up to Dr. Cool!
