Gourmet Body Treats Subscription Box Review – September 2014
Gourmet Body Treats is a family owned business that was founded in 1995 and all of their products are Vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, GMO free, natural and made with certified organic ingredients. There mission is to create beauty and skincare products that are wonderful for your skin without harming the environment.
A few months ago they introduced a new subscription box service, each month you will receive 2 full sized products from their store and 4 -5 exciting samples to try out!
This months theme is “A Gorumet Fall” and included a list of each product and sample included, I love the little information card included it’s pretty!
Vegan Eye Pencil Full Size $29 Value
This liner is handcrafted individually with cold pressed plant waxes and specially formulated natural pigment blends.
A lot of work goes into making this and when I tried this out on my eyelid and under eye, it goes on smoothly and lasted about 6 hours before I saw it smudge a little, it is all natural and I like to be conscious about what I put near my eyes, love this!
Plumping Lip Gloss Full Size $18 Value
This gloss has a spicy and tingling sensation after it’s applied and enhances the natural color and shape of your lips. This works by increasing circulation with a blend of essential oils such as cinnamon and orange.
This did have a little tingly sensation, I didn’t notice my lips instantly plumping but after a few minutes they looked a little fuller which I am guessing this is how it’s supposed to work, great lip gloss, not sticky and the color is pretty.
Organic Keratin Treatment $10 Value
I’m not sure if this is the conditioner or just a treatment but I tried it out a few days ago after towel drying my hair, it smells amazing and didn’t leave my hair feeling greasy.
Vanilla Mint Shampoo $10 Value
This is a delicous “Naked” shampoo with pure herbal infusions of coffee, chocolate and yucca to protect hair from further UV damage. It is also packed with proteins to relieve stressed hair!
I really like the smell of this shampoo, the mint left my hair and skin feeling fresh, I did have to use most of the bottle since I have really long hair and the formula is thin but it is definitely a treat I could get used to once in a while.
Clarifying Serum $3 Value
This helps moisturize and heal blemishes and reduce future breakouts.
This soaked into my skin really well, I can’t really comment on the results since it was just a sample but I would love to see a larger sized one in the future.
Natural Eye Shadow $4 Value
This is a mineral eye shadow and works great wet or dry.
I’m not sure if this is the shimmer one or the matte one but it did have a little shimmer to it and has a great pigment.
This box had a total value of $74, I love the packaging and I love getting full sized products. The samples were also great to try out and I was introduced to lots of new natural products.
If you are vegan or just love to help keep the environment a friendly place I would totally recommend this box, the products are beautiful and the everything is put together very well!
