The Products

Blade by Menu Wine Aerating Pourer $19.99 Value!

This is exciting!  I love my wine and I am eager to know how much better the wine tastes with this!  The wine pourer adds 43% more oxygen to your wine than conventional decanting pourers.  Bubbles are instantly created as your pour your wine, when wine is introduced to oxygen it is able come to life at an accelerated pace, accentuating the pleasant flavors and aromas and expelling the undesirable ones!

Now I have no idea about any of this, I know that wine doesn’t taste too good if it hasn’t been chilled but that’s about as far as my knowledge of wine pouring and storage goes, so I have learned something here!  I will be testing this out at the weekend!

Lot 18 $25 Gift Card $25 Value!

I’m so happy to see a gift card in the box!  I checked out the lot 18 website and it has some really nice wines, but it doesn’t look like any wines ship to my area.  However there is a gorgeous drinking glass set for $24.99 which does ship here so this is what I will be grabbing up, delighted!  Also there is no minimum order to use the gift card which is fantastic!

Antichi Uliveti Extra Virgin Olive Oil $17 Value!

I use olive oil in everything, well pretty much!  Bread, Pasta, cooking, stir fry you name it!  I am happy to see some Olive oil in the box, I love to make bruschetta which is one of the few things I can good at making and it definately screams Italy!

The olive oil is produced on a farm near Sassari.  The olive oil is made exclusively from Bosana olives that are picked when perfectly ripened and pressed in the family mill.  The oil is said to be extremely fragrant and sweet which I can’t wait to experience!  It’s recommend with fish or used when cooking focacia or for a dipping oil with a touch of salt.  Only a small quantity of this oil is produced every year which explains why it is pricey!

Antimo Caputo Tipo 00 Flour from Naples $3.99 Value!

This flour is widely regarded as “the world’s best pizza flour” which means it is the worlds best foccacia flour, focaccia goes with olive oil, get it?  I have never tried it, I usually go for all white flour, but what do I know, I need some cooking lessons!  This flour is extremely hard to find in the US outside of pizzerias which is probably why I have never seen it in the supermarket!  I will be attempting the Hamptons Lane focaccia recipe this weekend!

IGP Spaghetti Pasta by Pastifico Faella $8 Value!

I love pasta so this will go perfect with some Focaccia as an appetizer!  This spaghetti is made with fresh wheat and water from from the pristine springs in Gragnano Imbuto.  I like food that has a history, it makes me want to try it even more!

Colatura Di Alici by Nettuno $20.75 Value!

I wasn’t sure what this was when I saw it, but it is Anchovy oil, basically like viatnemese fish oil but far more flavorful!  It’s recommended with Sea Scallops, pasta or as a salad dressing.  I think I will try this out on a salad first, then maybe use it as an extra with pasta sauce.  The oil takes about 6 months to fully produce which I am guessing is why it’s expensive, again I love that it has a history!

The Verdict

The total value of this Hamptons Lane box is around $95!  For only $45 a month this a fantastic curation of products!

I love that the food has a history and I know where it’s came from and all the work that has been put into creating every product!  For not so kitchen savvy people like myself, I am glad that they include recipes and suggest how to use each food item, time to get a little more creative!

At the beginning of each month Hamptons Lane also reveals the items in each box, so I like the fact that if you don’t have a taste for that months theme you can skip a month (or as many months as you like).

I think this would make a fantastic gift for a housewarming or a friend who loves to cook and experience new foods!
