Surprise ride is a super fun and educational subscription box, each month you will receive a box full of materials to create hands on projects. Each box has a surprise theme ranging from science to food to geography and it is perfect for children aged 6 – 11, there might also be a book or a snack to accompany your child on the ride.
As soon as my mail came there was no mistaking what box this was (I get quite a few boxes of mail every day). This box is super cute and I think all of the colors are fun!
Inside the box is filled with blue paper and to introduce you to this months theme there is an information card included with all of the activities and extras.
One of my favorite things about this box was the little activity book, it’s tiny but it’s super cute and has lots of activities for your child to do and learn. The worry stone I thought was super cool and when I explained to Dylan what it was for her said “No Scary Monsters”, he has an obsession with scary monsters at the moment… this is a really cool stone!
One of the projects was about making a dream catcher, we haven’t got around to doing this yet but you have the wooden circle and you wrap the string around it in a triangular shape to make a dream catcher, you then have to attach the smaller string to the dream catcher, then add all of the feathers and beads. Once we get a chance to complete this project I will probably hang it up in Dylans room.
The second activity was all about creating a tribal drum, it included double sided sticky tape and you lay the star shaped thing out flat, add the double sticky tape then place rounded tumbler thing on top and wrap each of the arms with the sticky tape to the side of it.
This was really easy and both Dylan and I had fun with it, once we got it together and turned it over I then wrapped two ribbons around it and let Dylan decorate it with stickers!
The Dance Rattle is really cool looking and has a real tribal look, Dylan had fun making some music and teasing the dog with it.
As soon as my husband saw the Animal Slide Whistle he has to have a shot, he hasn’t seen one in years and I don’t believe I have either, they are pretty cool and easy for kids to use too, the design is awesome!
There is also a little booklet filled with information and facts about American Indians and it also explains why the Popd Kernel was in the box,.
This was a really fun, hands on subscription box and I think it is great for the whole family. I think it’s very well curated and a great learning experience, I liked all of the little extras and it made an afternoon really fun and eventful! I think the price is right on the mark, I can’t even imagine how long it takes to test out each product, put it together and design everything.
