Disclosure: I attended the #ZootopiaEvent, all expenses including travel and accommodation were covered, all opinions are 100% my own.
This past weekend, I had an opportunity of a lifetime to stay at the beautiful and inspiring Animal Kingdom Lodge, this was my first time ever staying at a Disney hotel and it certainly has the WOW factor.
As soon as I stepped off the plane, I walked right over to the Magical Express section and had my luggage loaded on, we then headed over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge!
As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I was wowed by how amazing it looked and that was just from the outside. The hotel is inspired by the traditional African Kraal, it has a horseshoe curved design and 4 beautiful savannas where over 200 hoofed animals and birds can be seen!
When I walked into the hotel I waited behind my friend to check in, then the most delightful man walked over to me and offered to check me in and set my room up, the staff are extremely helpful, friendly and provide and a wonderful service which made me feel extremely welcome from the moment I arrived at the hotel!
The hotel rooms are beautiful and have an African theme and Decor. My room had two double beds which was definitely enough for me, myself and I! If you are travelling with kids they also offer rooms with bunk beds among many other options.
My bed was beautifully made, it had 3 layers of blankets for to keep me cozy at night time and lots of pillows, I love my pillows. Next to the bed there was a phone with all the different services you can call up and use.
My favorite service was the wake up call one, it was automated, you just type in the time you want to wake up and it does it all for you. I was woken up by Baymax from Big Hero 6, definitely a nice wake up call!
From my balcony, I had a beautiful view of the Savanna, I got to meet some lovely giraffe and lots of other cool animals, it’s not every day I get to wake up and see a giraffe out my window!
The bathroom was also African themed and it also had one of the coolest showers I have ever used in a hotel, seriously, it had like 20 different options, so however you like to shower, you are covered. The bathroom also had towels and soap ready for me to use!
There was also dual vanities, shampoo, conditioner, soap, face cloths and a beautiful mirror for me to do my make up! Inside the the closet there was also a hair dryer, a pack and play (great for babies) and lots of room to store all my clothes.
The room also includes a pretty large screened TV, so if you do find that you have some spare time on your hands, this has you covered. Overall the room was beautiful and I wish I could have stayed even longer!
There are many dining options to choose from, including room service which I opted for a couple of times! I was served and amazing Cuban sandwich, creme brulee and lots of other delicious food!

Recreation and Amenities
There are a few bars, including a pool bar and a bar located just below the lobby, they have lots of drink options including cocktails, beer, wine, non alcoholic drinks and more! I sat in the bar for a couple of nights and the bar staff were extremely friendly and attentive!
There is also a firepit located outside the back of the hotel, you can roast your own smores and pretty much stay warm and chill around the fire pit at night time.
If you feel like workin’ on your tan and chillin’ at the hotel for the day, there is a beautiful swimming pool located just outside with lots of sunbeds and loungers to relax on whilst your kids play in the pool. There is also a play park located just by the pool for when the kids want some more fun!
Whilst you are taking a walk around the hotel you will see lots of beautiful animals, it’s amazing that all of this is right before your eyes in this beautiful hotel.
The hotel also features lots of African Art, no matter where you walk, you are bound to see something that captures your eye!
Animal Kingdom Lodge is also non smoking, which is great but there are a couple of dedicated smoking areas outside.
The bottom line is, splurge a little for an amazing hotel experience that you will never forget!
